Wearables, apps, mobile, smart technology – the travel industry is well and truly embracing technology and this is one of the key trends to keep your digital eye on in 2016.

Bridgend County are getting in on the app action with their mission to prove that innovative destination apps can make a holiday even more fun, especially for children, whilst also teaching them about the natural world around them.

To start with, history comes to life with Digital Bridgend – an app packed with games, videos and treasure hunts that’ll have kids learning while they explore.

Then, with the Dare to Discover app, you can follow the Nature Keepers’ Quest, searching out 14 sculptures in unique settings. From the tallest sand dunes in Europe to the rugged Welsh valleys you’ll be sampling a hidden gem destination in real life with some virtual fun thrown in.

Both apps are available on iPhone and Android devices.
