January at AMA: PR Campaigns, New Destinations & Clients!

After spending leisurely Christmas holidays in Wales and Scotland, the AMA team came back to more work than ever with some fantastic campaigns on the way. Thankfully a much needed break and many roast dinners meant we all arrived back to the office raring to go.

Following the win of a new destination client, the Forest of Dean and the Wye Valley, we decided it was time for a trip so Alexandra and Frank set off to explore the woodland. They discovered some great family and activity attractions such as Clearwell Caves, Puzzlewood, Perrygrove Railway, Treetop Adventure  and some intrepid Mountain bike trails in the heart of the forest.

Alexandra and Tom headed for the white sands and high tides of Bridgend to discuss future trips and collaborations. Porthcawl Golf Club are ecstatic about hosting the Senior Open Championship in July as the first  in Wales. Not stopping there they drove on up to north Powys to the fabulous Lake Vyrnwy Hotel to meet new clients where they were stunned by the amazing views that could rival New Zealand (Tom tells us).

We’ve had some great media attention for all of our clients including Bamboo Bicycle Club who were in Time Out‘s DIY Revolution feature and even noticed by the BBC following a sneaky bike theft story and Velo Electrique who featured in The Guardian with tremendous results.

The whole team have been meeting up with various journalists to discuss the exciting new press trips on offer in 2014. Thanks to our influx of new clients in December and new story ideas from others, we have plenty to talk about!

And how could we forget to mention that Wales and Slovenia were named top destinations for 2014 by Rough Guides readers! 

In other news we’d also like to say a huge congratulations to Frank who successfully completed the full 31 days of dry January. He even managed to buy some shoes with the savings.
